"What the Clouds Carry" Original Oil Painting

$750.00

I painted this with the transition of seasons in mind, when the air cools, the days shorten, and the horizon begins to tell a different story. It is a study of atmosphere and movement, and of the way a storm can reshape the landscape long before the rain ever arrives. I wanted to capture that charged quiet before weather breaks, the feeling of standing beneath a sky that is shifting by the minute.

The layered clouds build and dissolve, giving a sense of weight and lift at the same time. Light collects at the edges, hinting at the last color of late summer, while the deeper tones signal the pull of fall settling in. This piece holds that in-between moment, when the world feels suspended, and you catch yourself pausing to watch the sky turn itself inside out.

Details: Original oil painting on 30×40” and 1.5” deep. Heavy duty cotton duck, acid-free and archival stretched canvas. Wired and signed on the back. Varnished, edges painted black, and felt pads on back corners for added wall protection. I recommend taking this piece to your local frame shop and getting a floater frame to match your space.

Shipping: Shipping is only offered in the U.S. via FedEx Home Delivery (1-5 days). Shipping is free and local delivery is optional— please email kathrynhackneyart@gmail.com to arrange local delivery to the following Washington counties: King, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom.

The original artwork is intended for personal display purposes only and should not be reproduced, resold, or used for any commercial purposes without obtaining proper authorization.

The colors may be slightly different in person due to varying lighting.
